Kyle Demands Reverend Admit Wrongdoing In Assessment Of Halloween Story

Colorado Springs, Co.- Recent reports from the small mountain town indicate that area bad boy Kyle is seeking validation from the Reverend regarding his storytelling skills.

Recently, the Reverend-turned-schoolteacher directed the class to write Halloween stories. While he reprimanded Kyle for writing a story that is too dark, he commended Brian and suggested he seek publication in the Gazette.

“I want to point out here that I am the one who told a story so convincing that it kept Brian up at night and almost made him miss the Halloween party,” Kyle comments. “He can say whatever he wants about Brian’s little kid stories–I’m the one with the real skills.”

The tale Kyle references sharing with Brian concerned Dead Red, a miner who allegedly killed ten year olds.

“I am so good at telling stories that I specifically tailored it to Brian’s age, I threw in believable geographic locations, even had an old mine to show Brian,” Kyle continues. “I could see him shaking in his boots. You can’t teach the kind of talent I have, and maybe that’s why the Reverend doesn’t like my stories—I’ve got the skill and he knows it.”

Although Kyle insists that he is confident enough in his skills that he doesn’t require the Reverend to acknowledge it, he nevertheless seeks it because “when you’re right, you’re right.”

Kyle continued that he wouldn’t have minded so much if the Reverend had issues with his story if he hadn’t publicly declared so in front of the entire class.

“Some things don’t need an announcement,” Kyle comments. “That just really escalated it for me. And now that I’ve got Brian scared–admit it Rev, who’s got the storytelling skills now? Who should really be published in the Gazette?”

At press time, the Reverend didn’t remember anything about the incident to which Kyle was referring while Kyle was telling Dorothy that her Gazette was garbage for not publishing his story.
