Cooper Kids Hope For Uneventful Christmas This Year

Colorado Springs, Co.– Recent reports from the small mountain town indicate that the Cooper children are hoping for a Christmas celebration untainted by major upheavals, worry, or otherwise big, stressful events.

“I thought we were going to have one last year,” Colleen Cooper shares. “We seemed to be on track for a normal family celebration–Sully was finally able to come home and we were going to do normal Christmas things like decorate the tree, read A Christmas Carol, and eat. But then they ended up being so late and we were worried that something happened, and while we were happy when they did come home, you don’t just bounce back from that kind of worry to have a normal Christmas after that.”

Other major events that have happened around Christmas the last few years include a disrupted celebration because a woman was having a baby secretly in a barn, a Jewish family that was nearly run out of town via mob violence, a dog sent unexpectedly in the mail who then had to work with Brian to rescue two children in the woods, and the Reverend going blind.

“And add on top of all that me missing Ingrid at Christmas,” Matthew Cooper adds. “I guess if I really had to think back on it, the last time we had a normal Christmas celebration was that first year Dr. Mike was here, but even then we missed the party because of the blizzard and it was the first year without Ma, so of course that was sad.”

Brian Cooper agrees that the first Christmas with Dr. Mike was the last Christmas the children enjoyed that was closest to normal, although he admits that it is bittersweet since that is the Christmas  that he received Pup.

“That was also when I started calling Ma my Ma, so it’s a special year for me,” Brian admits. “It would be nice to go back to simpler times like that.”

At press time, Dr. Mike was still grappling with the fact that she was visited by a ghost a few Christmases ago, Brian was wondering if he would ever get a non-problematic dog for Christmas, and Matthew was just putting  together that you could say Ingrid’s death was Sully’s fault in a round-about way for giving Pup to Brian in the first place.
