1977 Ford LTD II– Driving around in his beat up car waiting for Jonathan Smith to receive word on the latest assignment, Mark Gordon reminisces about the old days and wishes he could have just a day here and there to do things like sit around drinking beer and watching TV.
Mark admits that it is “pretty cool” getting to spend all his time with an angel and he likes that he gets to meet so many interesting people, plus he’s never had a friend as close as Jonathan. Still, Mark wishes he could just seat himself two feet in front of a tv, throw back a few, and watch some old TV movie he’s seen a dozen times before.
“I know I had some problems, but man, sometimes I think those were the days,” Mark tells us. “I just didn’t really have anyone’s expectations on me. Sure, I alienated just about everyone in my life, and I’m not saying I’d want to do that again. But would it kill the Boss to give me a day off here and there so I can stick my face in the TV with a bottle of beer?”
“Come on, Mark,” Jonathan chides, reminding Mark that he is “making a real difference,” something he “certainly can’t do sitting on his butt drinking beer all day.”
At press time, Mark was muttering that if he couldn’t have an occasional day to binge beer and TV, having his own bedroom once in a while might be nice.
