Walnut Grove, Minn.-Sources reveal that Caroline Ingalls recently dazzled her dinner companions with her command of geography when she revealed that she knew New York was thousands of miles away.
“It’s me, I’m the source,” husband Charles Ingalls reveals. “I didn’t really want to make a big deal of it at the time since Adam and Mary had just revealed they were moving to New York City and we were all a little shocked, but even though I was processing that a little voice in side of me was like, ‘wow, did Caroline just in the throes of fresh grief state that New York is thousands of miles away?’ I was really taken aback for a moment there, but of course I had to turn my attention to comforting her.”
Charles continues that his surprise was two-fold: “Well, for starters, I didn’t know I was married to a geography whiz. And then for her to just be whipping out these facts when she is in a state of fresh grief, well it was nothing short of amazing. Sure, she used to teach and all, but that was along time ago–I didn’t know her memory was so good.”
Charles laughs and adds, “Whoops, I guess my surprise is three-fold!”
At press time, Caroline was dazzling with her ability to rhyme when she employed the phone greeting “Hester-Sue, how are you?” while Laura was betting that her students didn’t even know how to name the five boroughs of New York City.
